Dr. Marie Duran, PsyD
Dr. Marie Duran is a licensed clinical psychologist bringing over 10 years of clinical experience to Westside DBT. She received her masters’ degree in clinical psychology in 2002 and her doctoral degree in clinical psychology in 2004 at the California School of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Duran has worked in intensive outpatient care and private practice settings providing brief and long-term psychotherapy, psycho-education, and consultation to individuals, groups, couples, and families struggling with issues that include eating disorders, dual diagnoses, depression, anxiety, addictions, personality disorders (in particular BPD), multicultural issues, and trauma.
Dr. Duran has a supportive and collaborative clinical style in helping individuals and families heal, grow, and create positive changes. In addition to DBT, Dr. Duran has an integrative approach-utilizing goal directed and evidence based interventions. She includes cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), somatic, and mind-body techniques.
She holds a strong belief in life balance and in her spare time enjoys the arts, travel, surfing, sailing, motor-sports, yoga, meditation, and her volunteer work at the Didi Hirsch Suicide prevention hotline.
