Sasha, a USC graduate, received her training from Harbor UCLA, a DMH facility in Torrance. She specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy and DBT working with adults and family members. She subsequently worked at Cedars Sinai at Thalians in the adult outpatient clinic, seeing clients for individual and group DBT. Sasha was intensively trained as a team, through Behavioral Tech, and has extensive experience in the field of DBT. Sasha currently treats families, adolescents and adults in West LA and Studio City locations. Sasha also provides clinical training for the UCLA psychiatry residents through the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior.

Through the process of dialectics and mindfulness, she works with her clients to uncover their inherent skills and improve your overall quality of life. Working collaboratively is crucial in this therapeutic process and in the discovery of your short and long-term goals.
She has a specialty and extensive experience in working with individuals and personality disorders, relationship issues, depression, anxiety and substance abuse.

Erin Lotz, LCSW, holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Southern California and has been a part of the well respected team of Psychotherapists and Psychiatrists at Cedars-Sinai-Medical Center’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences in Los Angeles, California and continues to be a trusted psychotherapist and teacher. Outside of Westside DBT, Erin also has a private practice, www.erinlotz.com, specializing in Mindfulness Psychotherapy. Erin has extensive experience working with adolescents and adults.

Erin specializes in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy working with individuals and groups. Erin provides treatment for a variety of mood, anxiety and personality disorders, as well as difficulties with addiction, impulsive behaviors, and chronic/persistent feelings that cause great amounts of suffering. Erin believes in each individual in creating a quality of life worth living.

Erin is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She was first introduced to DBT in 2000 at a Coping with Chaos training by Marsha Linehan, Ph.D, the original developer of DBT. Since then, Erin has completed DBT 2 trainings and completed the Intensive Training through Behavioral Tech.

Pam Jacobson, MFT

Pam Jacobson is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and holds a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. Over the last seven years her experience has ranged from working with adult dually diagnosed patients at Saint Helena’s Behavioral Health Hospital in Vallejo, California, to most recently working as a Dialectical Behavioral Therapist at Westside DBT. Pam has received training in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and continues to further her knowledge of the DBT model through extensive trainings offered at Behavioral Tech, Marsha Linehan’s organization where DBT was developed.

In private practice Pam specializes in working with adults and adolescents struggling with impulse control, self-harming behaviors, anxiety, mood disorders and substance abuse. She is also well-versed in facilitating DBT skills training groups. Pam has embraced the DBT model because of its balance between validation and acceptance with commitment to change. Working in a supportive and collaborative style with her clients she introduces the DBT skills and structure. Pam is honored to be a part of her client’s journey as they move towards a life they want to live.

Meredith Levy is a licensed MFT in the state of California and holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. Over last 10 years she has worked with many different populations, and feels most at home working in addiction, personality disorders and mood disorders. Meredith is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and is currently working on her DBT Certification.
Meredith has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, and has facilitated both process and educational groups. Meredith worked with inner-city youth as a bi-lingual therapist for the Department of Mental Health in Los Angeles County. Not only has Meredith worked at a variety of different drug and alcohol treatment centers throughout California, she was also the co-founder of a large treatment facility in Northern California.

Meredith's extensive education and background as an attorney and an MBA gives her a unique perspective and a fresh approach to elevating personal growth. In addition, she is a certified yoga instructor and believes that the spiritual, physical and emotional aspects of the self are important components of the therapeutic process.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, she currently resides in Venice, CA.

Aimee received her BA in History at UCLA. After graduation, she worked with children, who had behavioral difficulties and developmental disabilities, using the practice of Applied Behavioral Analysis. After receiving her Masters degree in Social work from USC, specializing in children, she worked at the Rape Treatment Center at UCLA educating youth how to reduce the incidences of victimization, crisis intervention, and counseling victims.

Her interests include examining the efficacy of DBT in children, as well as the impact of mindfulness in relieving parenting stress. Aimee is currently training in DBT. She has experience in working with children, adolescents and families. She believes in approaching the client with compassion and acceptance.

Her hobbies include skiing, hiking, travel and mindfulness.

Brian Shiers is a Certified Mindfulness Facilitator and has a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with a concentration in Interpersonal Neurobiology. Brian uses mindfulness to create a safe holding environment for treating anxiety disorders, healing attachment damage, and teaching DBT skills. He is a senior teacher for UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center and provides mindfulness programs for clients such as the FBI, Disney Animation Studios, and the UCLA Women’s Volleyball Team.

Cheryl received her MA in Marital and Family Therapy with a Specialization in Clinical Art Therapy, from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Cheryl became drawn to working with children and teenagers in the foster care system during her practicum work in 2014. She has since continued this work at 3 different group homes providing individual, group and family therapy, as well as supporting youth who have been or are at-risk of becoming involved in commercial sexual exploitation.

She has also provided therapy at in an inpatient substance abuse center and outpatient setting for adults. Cheryl is passionate about helping her clients live their best lives and empower them to reach their goals. As a clinical art therapist, Cheryl finds that adding art to a therapy session can help deepen the conversation but also be a lot of fun!

Cheryl also holds a BFA in Fibers (textile design) from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, GA and previously worked in the fashion industry before becoming a therapist. Cheryl is passionate about having a balanced lifestyle and in her spare time she enjoys doing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, reading, traveling and spending time with her fiancé and their two cats.

Chris received his B.A. Degree in Human Services from Saint Leo University with undergraduate focus in Psychology, Sociology and Philosophy. He received his Master's Degree at Webster University with a concentration in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral and Experiential therapies. Chris is a Certified Trauma Therapist (CTT) and an Associate Sex Addiction Therapist (ASAT).

Chris has extensive clinical knowledge and expertise in eating disorders, trauma resolution, sex and love addiction and co-occuring addictions. With these specialties he is able to treat many clients and conduct many different styles of groups. Chris is currently a co-facilitator with Healing Within, an intensive trauma workshop.

Chris is also well known for his use of heart centered breath in a modified Holotropic Breathwork modality suitable for beginners, experts, and trauma survivors alike - combined with techniques of Soul Gazing and energy work.

Mary Tobon received her Bachelor of Psychology from California State University Long Beach, followed by her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Mary is currently registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Social Worker and is working towards licensure.

During her time as an undergraduate student, Mary was trained in client-centered therapy and was given the opportunity to facilitate an undergraduate and graduate level course on the same intervention. After receiving her Bachelor’s, Mary worked as an intake coordinator for a nonprofit that helped addicts and alcoholics find services to aid in their recovery. Mary has experience working with adolescents and adults in residential and outpatient substance abuse facilities. She has worked as a Mental Health Counselor in elementary, middle, and high schools in the Los Angeles area where she managed crises, provided skills training, emotionally supported students, and aided in improving school culture and climate. Mary is passionate about living a well-balanced life through her own mindfulness practice and fitness routine. She spends her free time with her rescue animal, her family, travelling, and cooking.

Through the center she also worked at the Sulpher Springs School District running social skills groups for elementary-aged children. She received additional training at Didi Hirsch and is a member of the Suicide Response Team and is ASIST certified. She currently volunteers for Teen Line at Cedars-Sinai Hospital where she oversees high school students who manage a crisis line. Currently, Jennell is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at University of Southern California Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work in the Department of Children, Youth, and Families teaching courses in human behavior and the social environment. Ashley has been working with adolescents and families within residential treatment at Visions Adolescent Treatment Centers for the past 4 years. Ashley specializes in work with LGBTQ youth and their families to overcome complex issues relating to sexuality and gender and is currently obtaining certification in Brainspotting (trauma modality) to expand her clinical knowledge and integrate the mind and body connection. Ashley brings a diverse range of perspective to Westside DBT and is grateful to be apart of a dynamic and creative team of clinicians. Carissa’s Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) education and expertise started when working at an in-patient treatment facility. During her time there, she worked with a wide variety of clinical concerns and diagnosis’ applying Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She acquired on-site training and education in DBT. She is a skilled group therapist with experience leading groups a including DBT, CBT, and Seeking Safety, Mindfulness, Body Centered, and Experiential.

While in her master’s program, Brooke was a fellow of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Training Program and Lab, receiving intensive training in DBT through Behavioral Tech, LLC and completing her clinical internship at the NYU Child Study Center.

Brooke has experience as a psychotherapist working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of settings, both as an individual therapist and as a DBT skills group facilitator. Prior to joining Westside DBT, Brooke worked as an outpatient psychotherapist in New York City, providing comprehensive DBT and CBT to adolescents and adults.

Brooke values building strong therapeutic relationships with clients, using the power of these relationships to inspire motivation to change behaviors and patterns that are ineffective, painful, and unsustainable — all while building on the client’s strengths and acknowledging that change is challenging and oftentimes feels unattainable.

Outside of the office, Brooke spends her time traveling, hiking, reading, writing, and going to the beach.

Aimee H. Ruiz is the executive administrative assistant to the owners of Westside DBT, Inc. In this position, Aimee provides technical and logistical support for clinicians. She serves as the primary contact for communicating with relevant parties regarding accounts and billing issues. Aimee joined our team in 2018. Prior to her position at WDBT, she served as patient service supervisor at Radnet Resolution Imaging in Santa Monica. She has worked in the medical field for over 23 years.

Aimee is a wife and a mother of two daughters. Born in California, she enjoys the beach, watching football and spending time with her family and friends.
